The Transformation between Old and New Time Concept: Daily Routines of Indigenous Educational Institution in Japanese Colonial Period

摘要


本文主要探究日治時期教育所的作息,教育所是類同學校的組織與機構,教育所作息也是一種學校作息。探究教育所作息在於瞭解原住民時間觀的過渡與轉換,外來者的時間觀對於原住民本身與部落有何影響。本文為何選擇教育所作為探討之對象,在於接受教育所教育的原住民,在日本統治者眼中是較為「封閉」、「隔離」,因而在傳統時間觀與外來者時間觀之間,更可觀察到衝突到接受的動態歷程。

This article is to inquire the daily routines of indigenous educational institution during the Japanese colonial period. Indigenous educational institution was similar to school organization, and daily routines of indigenous educational institution were also school routines. An inguiring into daily routines of indigenous educational institution is to understand the transition and transformation of indigenous time concept, and how the Japanese colonialists' time concept affects indigenous peoples and tribes. Why does this article choose indigenous educational institution as the object of discussion? The reason is that indigenous peoples were more "closed" and "isolated" in the eyes of Japanese rulers. Therefore, between the traditional time concept and colonialists' ones, the dynamic process from conflict to acceptance could be observed.
