摘要

黃春明的中篇小說〈看海的日子〉發表於1967 年，時值台灣經濟起飛的階段，女性地位漸因具有工作機會與經濟能力而逐漸抬頭。本論文試以女性主義的觀點探求白梅這個角色的女性意識，從自覺意識的萌芽，到追尋自我的行動，再到自我實現的解放的整個歷程，並佐以馬斯洛(Abraham Maslow)的需求層次理論分析這一切連鎖反應的合理性。此外，本論文也意欲藉由此悲劇角色的尋求脫困，思考女性在傳統父權社會的壓制之下，如何覓回人性中最崇高可貴的尊嚴，甚至邁向精神上的自我昇華，達到另一種新的人生境界。

The novel The Sea-seeing Days written by Huang Tsun-ming is published in 1967. Feminine status is raising because of having more job opportunity and economic ability in this period of time. In this paper, I try to analyze the rationality of all the chain reaction in the viewpoint of feminism and Abraham Maslow's Need-hierarchy theory to discover the female consciousness of Bai-may from the germ of self-consciousness, the action of pursuing herself to the liberation of self-actualization. Besides, I would like to think how we could search out the most valuable dignity in humanity under the suppression of traditional patriarchy society, even the self sublimation in spirit and reaching another new level of life.
