陳玉慧的《海神家族》自民國93年出版以來,迄今已受到學界相當重視,然而,雖然已有這麼多論文探討此書,卻仍有若干問題未能被解答,如:作者為什麼安排一個外國人介入整個家族故事,其用意何在?再者,如果整本書是以綾子、靜子、作者三代人物為敘述脈絡主軸,那麼為什麼綾子、靜子的出走是失敗的、註定了她們一生悲苦的命運?而作者的出走與回歸卻是成功的?其關鍵點究竟在何處?面對以上的諸多問題未解,筆者認為著實有必要以《海神家族》的主體性為議題,再一次地探析此書。本論文擬從綾子、靜子、作者三人的出走談起,再議及主體性如何被建立。主體的建構,是讓自身命運免於被複製的唯一契機,透過家族史的書寫,作者重新爬梳了自身之所從來,也重新建構了個人的主體性。在回顧了家族故事後,作者得以用全新的角度去觀看親人生命的無奈,也對自己生命置放的「位置」,得以有更深切的體認。
Since Chen Yu-Hui published 'The Family of Sea Goddess' in 2004, it has been highly valued by the literature academic community. However, there are still some questions unsolved. For example, why did the author arrange a foreigner getting involved into a whole family story? What was the purpose? Furthermore, if Ling-zi, Ching-zi and the author are the main shaft of the book, why does Ling-zi and Ching-zi's leaving a failure and determines their miserable life while the author's leaving and coming back successful? What is the key point? Upon the unsolved questions above, the writer thought it is necessary to discuss and analyze deeply this book again from its subjectivity. This essay will discuss from Ling-zi, Ching-zi and the author's leaving, then how the subjectivity was established. Subject establishment is the only chance to prevent one's destiny being duplicated. Through writing the family history, the author had the chance to review where she came from and reestablished her subjectivity. After reviewing the family story, the author was able to see the helplessness of her close relatives with a total new angle. In the meanwhile, she was able to put herself into the right 'position' with more deeply understanding.
