The paper is the first to investigate into the intertextuality of the history of the Kalmyk's banishment and their national literature. It contrasts the Kalmyk's solemn and stirring return to their motherland in the east in 1771 with their banishment to the north in 1943, reviewing the literature on the whole picture of the Kalmyk's national tragedy. The accomplishment of Balakayev's epical masterpiece ”Thirteen Days and Thirteen Years” ushered in the Kalmyk's trauma literature themed ”thirteen days and thirteen years.”
