摘要

隨著台灣高齡人口越來越多，相關的老化議題也需要被更多人重視。尿失禁是常見的老年症候群之一，其盛行率隨著年齡的老化而增長，不僅會造成老年族群生理與心理的負擔，也會增加社會的照顧與經濟負擔。此篇綜論參考2015年第五屆國際尿失禁諮詢委員會的衰弱老人尿失禁報告(Incontinence in the frail elderly: Report from the 5^(th) international consultation on incontinence)、2009年美國腎臟醫學會老年尿失禁指引與2013年英國NICE指引(2013 NICE clinical guideline: Urinary incontinence in women)，整理老年尿失禁之危險因子、評估與介入治療，以提升醫療人員對尿失禁的預防與治療。

In response to the ever-growing elderly population, greater and closer attention need to be directed to aging-related problems and issues. Urinary incontinence is one of most common geriatric syndromes with its prevalence rising with aging. It not only causes physical and psychological distress to the patients and their caretakers but also imposes grave health-care and economic burden on the entire society. Therefore, we reviewed ＂Urinary Incontinence in Frail Elderly Persons: Report from the 5^(th) international consultation on incontinence＂ and related ASN (the American Society of Nephrology) and NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines to provide medical professionals with a better understanding of the risk factors, assessment, and intervention of urinary incontinence in the frail elderly so as to achieve more effective prevention and treatment.
