Chinese Medicine is known for its clinical benefit of being simple, convenient, and safe with minimal side effects. The gentle and cost effective treatment process is suitable for the elderly, especially those in long-term care. In formulating healthcare policies for the elderly, the Ministry of Health and Welfare should pay due attention to the specialization and benefits of Chinese Medicine so as to better meets the needs of elderly people and to reduce healthcare cost, thus creating a win-win scenario.
