The Use of Artificial Collagen as the Postextraction Socket Dressing

摘要

齒槽骨炎對於病人和牙醫師是一種不愉快的經驗，因此，牙醫師需要找到一種方法來防止這種併發症。本研究的目的在評估應用人工膠原蛋白敷料來減少齒槽骨炎的發生。在兩年半內有287顆牙在拔牙後，齒槽窩立即放入膠原蛋白敷料，經由主治醫師的追蹤，齒槽骨炎的發病率是0.7%。對於齒槽骨炎的危險因素進行統計學研究。病人的年齡，性別，吸煙，糖尿病，拔牙位置和齒槽骨炎的發病率沒有相關性。這項研究發現，人工膠原蛋白敷料在臨床上有降低齒槽骨炎發生的益處。

Alveolar osteitis (AO) is an unpleasant experience for a patient and for a dentist. Therefore, the dentist needs to find a way to prevent this complication. This study aims to evaluate if artificial collagen dressings reduce the incidence of AO. Two hundred and eight-seven extractions were carried out by visiting staff over two and a half years. The sockets were treated with collagen dressings immediately after the extractions. The incidence rate of AO was 0.7%. The risk factors of AO were examined statistically. No correlation was observed between age, gender, smoking, diabetes mellitus, indication, or location of extraction and the incidence of AO. This study found that collagen dressings had clinical benefits in reducing AO.
