The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of an intensive pronunciation training program on 13 first-year vocational college students. The research method included a set of questionnaires, a pre-test, a post-test, two interviews, and a six-hour intensive training program. The training involved the teaching of K.K. phonetic symbols (vowels and consonants), syllables and word stresses. The results of this study showed a great improvement in students' competence of English pronunciation, thus the students' confidence was greatly boosted.
