餐旅新生的希望感、生命意義感與學業成績之相關研究-以新冠肺炎疫情期間的調查為例

A Correlation Research on the Sense of Hope, Meaning of Life and Academic Performance of Hospitality University Freshmen During Covid-19 Pandemic Period

摘要


新冠肺炎疫情衝擊餐旅產業,使餐旅新生對職涯感到無望,本研究旨在了解正值疫情下,新生的希望感、生命意義感對學業成績之影響。本研究以237位餐旅新生為對象,研究工具採用C. R. Snyder的「希望量表」、何英奇的「生命態度剖面圖」量表,以及學業成績。資料分析上,採用描述統計、積差相關、t檢定及階層迴歸分析。分析結果發現:一、存在盈實與死亡接納具性別差異,即男性餐旅新生在存在盈實與死亡接納的平均分數高於女性;二、希望感與部分生命意義感內涵具相關,即希望感的動力思考與求意義的意志、苦難接納為正相關;三、生命目的與生命控制對學業成績僅具有微弱的解釋力。研究結果針對生命教育實務意涵及從校務研究視角調整課程,提供未來實務與研究的建議。

The COVID-19 epidemic has had a huge impact on the hospitality industry. During classroom teaching, it was found that some students revealed a sense of hopelessness in their future careers. This research aimed to understand the impact of hope and meaning of life on the academic performance of freshmen in the COVID-19 situation. Sense of hope, meaning of life and academic performance of 237 hospitality university freshmen, as the research subjects, were evaluated via C. R. Snyder's "Hope Scale" and Y.-C. Ho's "Life Attitude Profile". In this study, measures of descriptive statistics, Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, student's t-test and hierarchical regression were adopted on data analysis. Three significant results were indicated from the analysis: 1. In regard to the fulfillment of life and acceptance of death, gender difference was significantly presented, meaning that male students tended to perceive well than female students; 2. Sense of hope relates to a part of meaning of life, meaning that the dynamic thinking, search for meaning in life, and acceptance of suffering were highly involved in the satisfaction of sense of hope; 3. Explanatory power of the purpose of life and control of life was relatively weak as to the academic performance. The result of research aims at emphasizing practical meaning of life education and offering the most applicable suggestions of curriculum adjustments and future research from the perspectives of university affairs.
