World Health Organization experts have noted that a link exists between air travel and venous thrombosis. This incidence will increase in proportion to flight distance and time. Most cases of fatal thromboembolism in travelers occurred in the hospital within two hours; therefore, a rapid, accurate diagnosis and treatment are extremely important. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport has more than 20 million passengers and 150, 000 movements of aircraft taking off and landing every year. This article reviews the related literatures, and highlights the clinical features and preventions of the issue.
