Acute mesenteric ischemia is a syndrome in which inadequate blood flow through the mesenteric circulation and cause ischemia and eventual gangrene of the bowel wall. There are many different causes of acute mesenteric ischemia, and difficulties in diagnosis and high mortality remain in spite of improvement on medical care in this century. The role of angiography has been promoted for not only disease diagnosis and evaluation, but also in treatment. In this case report, we describe two patients who showed good outcome when received PGE1 for treating acute mesenteric ischemia.
