In this report, we fabricated flexible dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) of large area without TCO films and studied its photoelectric characteristics. The investigations include preparation of nanocrystalline particles of TiO_2, fabrication of porous TiO_2 films, photoelectrochemical characteristics of porous TiO2 films, fabrication of flexible electron transport layers, performances of DSSCs without TCO films, size effect of solar-cell with large area and photovoltaic measurements of solar-cell with large area. Experimentally, the nanocrystalline TiO_2 films were deposited on stainless steel mesh of 300 meshes by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) which consists of repetitive short-term depositions with intermediate drying for DSSCs. The TiO_2 nanoparticles was dissolved in ethanol or isopropanol for suspension solution. The efficiency and life-time of different size of DSSCs were discussed.
