Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infection often behaves indolently, which makes it hard to be diagnosed and treated timely. The standard strategy of treatment has not been well clarified and there is still controversy about the timing of surgical debridement and duration of antibiotic treatment. We report two cases of Mycobacterium marinum and Mycobacterium szulgai infection involving the hand. The results show antibiotic treatment combined with early surgical intervention may be an effective and safe treatment regimen for NTM infections of the hand.
