從樂齡網評估高齡者網購使用脈絡

Assessing the Online Shopping Context of Older Adults Based on the L'elan Senior Website

摘要


臺灣已邁入老年化社會,隨著高齡者的增加,高齡者的身心健康發展也愈來愈受到重視。也因此,許多針對高齡者的網站相繼而生,樂齡網即是其中一個,為高齡者提供各種生活、產品資訊的平臺。然而,高齡者在使用網路與網路購物上仍存在生理與心理的障礙。本文即以樂齡購物網為例,探討高齡者使用購物網站的脈絡及其使用脈絡中可能遭遇到的問題。本研究透過脈絡訪查方法,從搜尋網站、瀏覽網站、產品搜尋、產品檢視、評估比較、暫定購買與付款程序等七步驟進行評估,結果發現:在瀏覽網站、產品搜尋、產品檢視的步驟中,有文字過小、文字和背景顏色對比度不足、文字行距過窄、圖示或文字點擊範圍過小、產品選單分類不明確等問題存在。本研究成果可供樂齡網和其他相似網站做修正參考,使之更符合高齡者的使用需求。

The population aging is under way in Taiwan and the average age continue to increase every year. Consequently, there is an increasing demand on attention to physical and mental health of aged people. Numerous websites have emerged to meet the needs of Taiwan's aging population, including the L'elan senior website, which provides diverse lifestyle and product information for older adults. However, previous studies have indicated that physical and psychological issues of older adults might prevent them from using the Internet. Therefore, this study attempted to explore how older adults use the the L'elan website and what problems they may encounter in the online shopping context. Contextual inquiry was adopted to evaluate seven steps of online shopping: website searching, website browsing, product searching, product viewing, comparison and evaluation, unsure purchasing, and payment procedure. Results of this study found that certain ill-designed interface made the L'elan website difficult to use; these features included too small font size, low color contrast between the text and background, narrow row spacing, insufficient hyperlink area, and an unclear product menu. The results of this research provided references for the L'elan website and other similar websites to improve in order to satisfy the needs of older users.
