摘要

但教授將儒家的「推己之心以及人」的「己」解釋為Rawls的在無知帷幕之後，處於原初狀態的個人。在此短評中我指出儒家的恕道與Rawls的公正理論之間的差異，並論證：兩個不同的理論，可以透過對其關鍵概念的擴充解釋，而發揮互補的功能。

Professor Dan interprets Confucian concept of ”self” as ”an individual making choice in Rawlsian original position and behind a veil of ignorance.” In this brief comment I point out the difference between Confucian empathy principle and Rawls's theory of justice, and argue that different theories could very well be complementary to each other via extended reinterpretation of the key concepts in the theories.
