A good family environment and family relationship are of great significance to the growth of young children. Sixteen pre-Kindergarten children were selected as participants and required to draw three topics: My family, Family I like best, and Family I dislike through the painting projection method. An interview was conducted right after they finished drawing. All the drawings were analyzed according to the characteristics and the data from interviews were transcribed into texts. Children's drawings revealed their concepts of family members and family relationships. Children recognized their family members as people who are blood relatives and live together for a long time; children desire the company of family members and playing games with them is an important criterion to judge the family members they like or dislike. Three suggestions were proposed, first, for educators to master certain drawing and projection skills, second, for parents to spend more time companying their children, and the last, for fathers to get more involved in the growth of children.
