日本古代至鎌倉時期對儒書的受容

A study on the Reception of the Confucian classics from Ancient Japan to Kamakura Period

摘要


日本自古受中國文化影響甚深。無論在律令制度的建立、語言表達、乃至文學創作等各方面,日本古代受中國典籍的啟蒙甚多,日本知識分子的思考與創作也受中國典籍觸發不少。本文試從書籍交流與文本傳釋的視點出發,關懷中國儒家典籍東傳日本的歷史軌跡,先整理古代有哪些儒家典籍、於何時東傳日本,考察這些儒書傳入後如何為日本文人閱讀、攝入與接受的問題。並以儒家書籍在日流傳最為廣泛的《論語》為主軸,檢視日本古代文人透過哪些文本來理解《論語》內涵,《論語》在日本發揮了什麼樣的作用?其重要性為何?最後,再舉日本中世散文代表作品《徒然草》一書為例,考察《論語》在《徒然草》的書寫創作上扮演何種腳色,以闡明儒家典籍對日本知識階層的書寫與創作活動上所帶來的影響,爬梳日本古代社會受儒書影響的歷史脈絡。

Chinese culture has had a profound impact on the development of Japanese culture. Either the establishment of Ritsuryo, language expression or literature works, Japanese people have been widely inspired by the Chinese classics in many respects inclusive of Japanese intellectual level's thinking and writing activities. This research tries to clarify the reception of Chinese Confucian classics from Ancient Japan to Kamakura Period, with the viewpoint of intellectual exchange via books between China and Japan. This study initiates from collating when and what Confucian classics have been introduced to Japan, how they have been read and accepted by Japanese intellectual level also. Having the most commonly acknowledged Confucian classic "The Analects" as a main research object, this article also focuses on what kind of annotation Japanese intellectual level used to help them understand "The Analects". Then, taking "Essays in Idleness" as an example, exams what kind of role of "The Analects" played in the writing activities of Japanese intellectual level. This study aims to explore the effect that the Confucian classics had upon Japanese society, Japanese intellectual level as well as their writings from Ancient Japan to Kamakura Period.
