《論語》「以」字的用法探討

摘要

《論語》一共出現209次的「以」字，「以」字的用法，以用作介詞98次最多，將近一半的比例（47.85%）。「以」字在《論語》有實詞（動詞）的用法，也有虛詞（介詞、連詞）的用法，更可以作為帶詞尾詞的詞素。實詞用法較少，虛詞用法佔大多數（63.16%以上），此結果可見「以」字在《論語》虛化的程度相當的高。

The word ”Yi” appears in ”Confucian analects” a total of 209 times. Usage of the word ”Yi” serves as the preposition 98 times, nearly half the total (47.85%). The word ”Yi” is used as a notional word in ”Confucian analects” (verb), also as a function word (preposition, conjunction). The notional usages are few, the function word usage accounts for the majority (above 63.16%). We conclude the empty degree is quite high for the word ”Yi” in ”Confucian analects”.
