Language and culture lay the foundation of humanities and arts for an ethnicity. These two facets complement and flesh out each other, and the connection between the both is therefore worth investigation. The purpose of this study is to locate the cultural components within the language domain, establish a comparative framework of thought patterns between Chinese and English, and investigate the relationship between cultural cognition and language learning. The major research topics explored in the study were: 1) cultural contents through verbal delivery, 2) ways of culture acquisition, and 3) culture in digital communication. Conclusions were substantiated that language and culture are dependent on each other, with the former being the principal means of communication and the latter, fundamentals to communication. Nevertheless, frustration may be implicit in an attempt to express oneself adequately or even correctly in another culture, because cultural knowledge is lacking. Although culture cognizing may not always be comfortable or pleasant in various settings, it plays the key to the language barrier surmounting.
