The restaurant industry is very important for developing tourism, so the perceptions and attitudes towards working in the restaurant industry of undergraduate students who major in food and beverage management should be taken seriously. This study focused on a sample of 397 undergraduate students studying in the department of food and beverage management in order to explore their perceptions and attitudes towards working in the industry. The study was conducted with questionnaire investigation.The results showed that the evaluation of the majority respondents' perceptions and attitudes towards working in the restaurant industry was high, but less half (45.8%) of students were happy to choose restaurant industry as a career in his (her) future life, due to working hours are too long (74.81%), jobs are exhausting (73.3%), working hours are not suitable for a regular life (70.52%) and jobs are not respected (42.06%). This study also found the relationship between perceptions and attitudes are positive (r=0.827, p<0.01). The first-year students are higher than others. The students studying in the public school are higher than those of in the private school.Several suggestions for the Government, the restaurant industry, the schools or departments of food and beverage management, and further research were made.
