本研究的目的在於建立體脂肪率(BF)的簡便估計公式,並探討BMI評估BF的妥當性。498位健康成年男性為受試者,年齡為19至88歲,BF為6-40.4%,BMI為11-35.28,所有受試者共分為六組,利用TBF-521體脂肪測量儀檢測BF,做為估計BF的效標;從全體498位受試者隨機抽樣49位做為覆核效度組,其餘的449位受試者進行多元逐步迥歸分析,以建立估計BF的迴歸公式,然後考驗覆核效度。結果得到公式為體脂肪率=0.04×年齡(歲)-0.52×身高(公分)+0.54×體重(公斤)+69.34,R平方為0.57,覆核效度組的實測值和估計值相關係數為0.76,證實其公式可用來預估一般男性民眾的BF。再者,就本文而言,以BMI評估BF有待再商榷。
The purpose of the study was to investigate the predicated formula of body fat percentage (BF) and to investigate the validity of predicted BF from body mass index of male. 498 male subjects, with a wide range in body mass index (BMI: 11-35.28) and an age range of 19-88 years, the whole subjects were divided into six age groups according to their ages. Body composition was determined by anthropometry. The 498 subjects were randomly assigned and elected 449 subjects as formula groups and 49 subjects as cross-validation group. Multiple stepwise regression was used to analyze the relationship between BF as dependent variable and BMI, age, weight and height as independent variables. The BF could be predicted by the formula BF=0.04(superscript *)age-0.52(superscript *)height+0.54(superscript *) weight+69.34 (R2=0.57). The coefficient of c0rrelati0n between the values of cross-validation group and of predicted formula is 0.76. Internal and external cross-validation of prediction formulas showed that it gave valid estimates of body fat percentage at all ages.
