探究《稻禾》之視覺文化論述

A Study of Visual Culture Discourse in "Rice"

摘要


本文主要以瑪莉塔.史特肯(Marita Sturken)和莉莎.卡萊特(Lisa Cartwright)的視覺文化導論觀點分析林懷民老師2013年的舞作《稻禾》。史特肯論述以影像力量(Images Power),觀賞者所感受到的意涵(Viewers Make Meaning),及全球化的視覺藝術(The Global Flow Of Visual Cuiture)為重點。本研究者藉由史特肯的角度分析《稻禾》並探討其舞作結構,筆者由此研究中發現:一、虛擬的影像視覺效果其實具象的幫助了觀眾看見抽象的舞蹈藝術。二、具體的影像畫面可以跨越國度藩籬並創造一個全球化的視覺符號,搭乘一座編舞者與觀賞者在藝術溝通上的橋樑。

This paper aims to analysis H.M. Lin's choreographic work Rice (2013), based on the visual culture theory of M. Sturken and L. Cartwright. There are three perspectives included in their discourse that are image power, viewers make meaning, and the global flow of visual culture. Through this study, one can see the aesthetical structure of Rice from the visual culture point of views. This research first found a virtual image figurative visual effects actually help the audience see the abstract art of dance. Second, the specific video screen across the country barriers creates a visual symbol of globalization, bridging the choreographer and the viewer by the arts of communication.
