This study aimed to explore the viewpoints of technology teachers in the elementary school on the competence indicators of design and production, the practice and problems of selecting and compiling teaching materials. Interview Method was mainly adopted in this study. Literature Review Method and Content Analysis Method were subordinately adopted in this study. Triangular Surveying Method was adopted to make this study reliable and valid. The findings were shown as followed: 1. The competence indicators of design and production were necessarily clarified and transformed, so as to make it practical to select and compile textbooks based on the indicators. 2. Too few teaching materials regarding the indicators were available for teachers, so as to increase the related teaching tools and materials to the indicators. 3. The teachers' domain knowledge of teaching materials compilation should be enhanced. 4. The time for Teaching Materials Compilation Curriculum should be gained for the teachers, so as to help find a way out of the difficulties of compiling teaching materials based on the indicators by the teachers. Finally, six conclusions and seven suggestions are proposed in this study.
