應用Excel VBA於人口年齡結構視覺化之設計

The Application of Excel VBA to the Visualization of Population Age Structure

摘要


傳統的人口三階段年齡結構統計圖形,難以表達該結構的特性、類別或相互間的差異比較。而「正三角形座標圖」屬於結構圖的一種,是以一個點代表三個座標變量所占之百分比,有利於表達事物與現象的內部組成或分類。本文運用普及的Excel軟體,通過VBA的巨集程式,設計可自動快速地繪製人口三階段年齡結構正三角座標圖的程式,並說明其資料處理與程式步驟。再以歷年臺灣地區和臺北市、2010年各縣市,以及2008年主要國家的人口三階段年齡結構實際資料,標繪其正確點位置,呈現人口結構正三角座標圖的視覺化;更進一步以老化指數及扶養比的高低組合,將座標圖區域劃分成「高齡高扶養」、「高齡低扶養」、「低齡高扶養」與「低齡低扶養」四部分特性,從資料點的分布,可以觀察各地區或時間序列的人口結構特性、類別,並比較其差異,有利於人口學相關的研究分析及應用。

The traditional statistical graph of three-stage age structure is difficult to express the character, classification and difference. However, triangular diagram, a kind of structural graph, uses a point to represent the percentage of three coordinate variables, thus is easier to show the composition and c1assification of an object or a phenomenon. This article uses macro of VBA in the general Excel software to design a program which can automatically and rapidly draw a triangular diagram of three-stage age structure, and to illustrate its data processing and program procedure. Also, Using the actual data of Taiwan and Taipei in the past few years, Taiwan different counties in 2010, and main countries in 2008, it marks the points of each structure to present the visualization of population structure. Moreover, with the combination of aging index and dependency ratio, the coordinate diagram were divided into four regions. From the distribution of each point in the diagram, we can observe each structure's character and compare the differences and classifications, thus benefit the analysis and application of demography.
