摘要


本曲由「吹笛人長笛室內樂團」委託創作,完成於2007年1月底。其編制是四支長笛的四重奏,第一長笛兼短笛,第四長笛兼中音長笛。【4-2-1】變奏之曲名由來,是因爲音高素材取自Pitch-Class Sets 4-2,其音組爲【0, 1, 2, 4】。將其安排成相同結構的音程進行【4-2-1】,(也就是,大二度,小二度之進行)繼之首尾重疊連結爲【1-2-4】。全曲包括主題與六個變奏,其中第四變奏將原來旋律線加以四度循環及五度循環變形。

”Variations on 4-2-1” was commissioned by JOUEURS DE FLUTE ENSEMBLE, and was finished in January 2007. It is scored for four flutes, with the first doubling piccolo, the fourth alto flute.The piece bears the title due to its pitch material based on the pitch-class set 4-2, [0, 1, 2, 4], which was arranged to be the succession of intervals 4-2-1 (namely, major third-major second-minor second), then overlapped with its retrograde form, 1-2-4. The piece comprises a theme and six variations. The fourth variation is built upon the transpositions of the original melodic line in circles of fourths and fifths.
