This study was to examine the drawing materials used by the blind in domestic and international research. It stated and analyzed the characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of the materials. The researchers classified them into four categories: raised-line kit, brush and ink, clay slab, and mesh board. These drawing materials were compared and analyzed in several aspects: "features and forms of drawing", "perception and appreciation", "material preparation and clean up", "long-term preservation of works", and "requirement of drawer's ability". Various drawing materials had their own merits and disadvantages. How to choose a proper material would not only depend on the purpose of drawing, but also the conditions of human resources, economic, and time. Additionally, the condition and preference of the blind themselves should be considered.
