Hand-chimes are musical instruments which are made of aluminum, and they are similar to hand-bells which are rung by hand. However, the hand-chimes are lighter than hand-bells, and they are easier to hold and play. Even people who have never played a musical instrument and have had no training in musical theory are able to play handchimes, either solo or as part of a musical ensemble. This article will provide practical sharing on music therapy-based hand-chimes activities for the life-caring of adults with intellectual disabilities. It will include music therapy, advantages of hand-chimes lessons, the principles of designing a lesson, and the assessment of the hand-chimes lessons for the life-caring of adults with intellectual disabilities.
