排灣族老人之都市生活經驗初探

本研究目的在於瞭解排灣族老人移居高雄市都會區的社會脈絡、都市生活現況，以及與原生部落的互動情形。本研究採質性研究方法，所蒐集與分析的資料包括田野日誌、相關文件，以及深度訪談文本。主要研究發現有四：一、受訪的排灣族老人主要因找工作、子女教育或婚姻等因素而移居高雄；二、教會和排灣族同鄉會是受訪的排灣族老人主要的人際互動場合，並發揮訊息傳播、交流和社會支持等功能；三、受訪者與原生部落維持單向且頻率少的互動關係，在原部落有重要慶典時會返鄉參加；四、多數受訪者在家中承擔隔代教養和自我照顧責任，表達出就業和住屋等福利需求，以及公部門福利供給之落差與歧視。本研究建議應落實公部門對都市原住民老人基本資料和需求之掌握，並強化與教會或同鄉會等民間組織合作，提高福利資訊與資源的可近性。

Paiwan group is one of fourteen indigenous peoples in Taiwan and most of indigenous live in mountain areas. They move to city gradually since 1970s for some reasons. This study aims to understand social context of urban Paiwanese elderly migration, their contemporary live situation and their interaction with their original tribe. The study adopted qualitative approach and used field notes, relative documents and depth interviews. Purposive and snowball sampling were used to interview ten Paiwanese older people in total. The findings confirm that (1) Paiwanese older people moved to city because of job-searching, children education and their marriage; (2) churches and Paiwanese association are mainly interaction with other people for Paiwanese elderly, and these places also distributed some information and social support for them; (3) interviewees expressed they have few interaction with their original tribe and they would only back and participate in big events; (4) most interviewees have to care their grant-children and themselves, and they have high demanded in employment and housing. They also indicated about the gap of services delivery and discrimination by the mainstream. We suggest to the local government have to establish urban indigenous demographics and identify their welfare need. Moreover, local government should enrich the cooperation between themselves and churches/relevant association for increasing accessibility of welfare information and resources for urban Paiwanese older people.
