It is well recognized that in a society every individual is deemed to be a consumer one way or another, especially in a commercialized one. Consumption is in fact an important part of daily routine. It is under this environment that consumers are inevitably being placed at a disadvantaged position, where they are constantly exposed to the risk of fraud or scam. And it is one of the reasons that the concept to protect consumer's rights is becoming more and more imperative. Therefore, the concept to protect consumers, education on protecting consumers in particular, becomes the center of attention regardless of if it's in developing country or developed country. As such, the purpose of this dissertation is to illustrate consumer's basic rights and security, and how to inclusively protect and maintain the rights and to better educate consumers on this subject by means of law enforcement, consumer's own self-awareness, and active interaction among governing authorities. Suggestions by the author also intend to promote and defend consumer's rights to some extent.
