In 1970, a software community leads by Richard Stallman starts a movement to open their source code and allows anyone to modify it. This is what we called the open source community (OSC) today. Recently, the movement inspires the another movement of open intellectual properties, such as open copyright for books, slides, research resource etc. In this paper, we will review the history of OSC, analyze the current situation and then draw a figure of possible future for it.
