The aim of this research was to gain an understanding of the psychological needs of fujoshi, a group of audience of Boy's Love, or abbreviated to BL, to help remove the stigma of fujoshi among society and establish a deeper understanding of it. A qualitative research from a feminist perspective was adopted in this study. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from the three fujoshi. Thematic analysis was applied to analyze the data. The research results are listed as follows: (1) Through the imaginary world of BL, fujoshi can fantasize about their encounter with ideal feminine-looking men. BL presents an ideal intimate relationship of equality, and this particular relationship also satisfies their imagination and needs. (2) The phenomenon of fujoshi reflects the oppression of modern women in this society, including the oppression of gender expectations, and the unfriendly and objectification of woman's sexual desire. Fujoshi are able to reverse this state from BL, regain dominance, liberation and empowerment. Discussion and implications of the study for future research and mental health practice are provided at the end of the study.
