Somatosensory Game Design Based on Kinect and Unity3D Integration Technology

摘要

In this paper, a fight technology game (FTG) is designed based on Street Fighter, a once highly popular video game all around the world, with several extended features including 3D technology and somatosensory operation. Instead of using a keyboard, mouse, or joystick for game operation, our FTG utilize body posture and gesture identification to control the limbs and other parts of its virtual characters on the screen for two-player fighting games. Unity3D engine is successfully integrated with the somatosensory operation of the Kinect sensor. Major new features of the designed game include enhanced interaction between the player and virtual characters, countdown, detection of hand and foot attack, and win-loss judgment. The success of a video game lies in innovative control and operation approach, appealing game content, beautiful map, fascinating background music, and dazzling special effects. In order to introduce to players a new and exciting 3D somatosensory FTG, the proposed method strives to encompass all the aforementioned elements with a game designed to provide a brand new experience in the video game industry.
