形態建構之運算性初探

A Primary Study on the Computability of Form Generation

摘要


隨著設計問題的日益複雜以及產品設計週期縮短的雙重壓力,設計師必須找尋新的工具與設計方法來處理大量的設計相關資料,並加速設計的產生。近年來電腦自動化於電子或機械工程領域的應用有著耀眼的成果,但在相關形態建構的設計領域中,設計的運算化(或電腦化)成果則不如工程領域的表現。本文旨在探討形態建構的運算性,期望從以形態、建構為主體的設計工作與運算的本質進行探討,理解目前設計自動化相關研究中所採行之方法與成效,進而探索電腦運用於形態建構之可能性。本文從形態表示法的運算性,形態建構知識的運算性與形態建構程序的運算性三個方面相關文獻之彙整,來探究形態建構之運算可能性;此外,文中並就目前設計運算化之技術、做法與期望之貢獻作一初步之討論。初步探討之結果,雖說形態建構的運算化在表示法、程序、技術這三方面目前都有差強人意的成果,但距離形態建構自動化的理想還有一段距離。然而,隨著人工智慧的發展,許多專家系統在設計上應用的具體成果,使我們相信,有效運用人工智慧於設計工作中,結合操控式形態、建構工具與法則式形態建構概念將是較適用於運算化形態建構的做法。而電腦工具將可以在形態建構的過程中,扮演著更為重要的輔助角色。

The complexity of design problems has grown steadily over the year. Increased awareness for competitions from international design firm has been paralleled by pressures to maintain an efficient design cycle in their production. These factors force designers to seek new tools and methodologies to help manage the explosion of design data and accelerate design generation. Recent developments in computer sciences have provided insight to some human creative processes, and have accelerated the search for new design tools.In this primary study, we explore the computability of form generation from three issues, namely, the computability of form representation, the computability of form generating knowledge, and the computability of form generating models. This study did not attempt to answer the question of design computability, but rather to raise and explore some of the issues it involves and presents some general models of the form generation process. It is hoped that this study may serve as a catalyst upon which the research of the future may rest and ultimately answer the question of form generation computability.
