This paper takes the affective ecocriticism as a point of departure to explore Mingyi Wu's The Man with the Compound Eyes in the context of (global) environmental trauma and eco-therapy. Together with Baruch Spinoza's, Deleuze's, Sianne Ngai's and Ben Anderson's concept of "affect," the first section rethinks "affective" as both an individual emotion and prepersonal intensity in affective ecocriticism. The second section discusses environmental trauma in the age of Anthropocene shown in the Wu's fiction in light of Anil Narine's idea of "eco-trauma." The third section tackles with the problems and correlations among the notions of "affect", "eco-therapy" and "ecohealing" with the attention to the characters' affective/ethical turns. The last section ends with the implications of (the man with) the compound eyes and environmental ethics that such figure entails.
