Relationship between Hypoxic Tolerance and Cardiopulmonary Functions in Trained Mountain-climbers

摘要

The purpose of this study was to explore relationship between mountain-climbing ability and cardiovascular function, endurance on hypoxia condition. Fourteen male subjects attend this study named pamirs expedition recruit activity by La new Company. Each subject mounted Polar on chest was recoded heartbeat on the process of c1imbing Mountain Snow (altitude approximately 3500 m) in Taiwan, during from beginning to end. AII subjects were divided into three group according to their heartbeat intensity, the first group was people with excellent performance on mountain- climb ability E (n=4), the second group was people with good performance on mountain-climb ability G(n=3), the third group was disqualified(D)(N=7). Everyone must work on the treadmill with gradually increasing burden under circumstances of simulating mountain climbing test. The results as followed:l .In respect of cardiovascular function:(1)The E was significantly higher than G and D in time to exhaustion, maximum oxygen uptake, and oxygen pulse.(2)The E was significantly higher than D in maximum ventilation.2.In respect of hypoxia endurance test:When FIO2=7%, 9% and 8 %, the E and G was significantly higher than D in SaO2.3.The physical performance tests and performance was positively correlated for mountain-climbing ability were as follows: time to exhaustion, relative maximum oxygen uptake with muscle mass, relative maximum oxygen uptake, oxygen pulse, absolute maximum oxygen uptake, maximum ventilation.According to the results mentioned above, we knew that E was significantly higher than G and D in performance and cardiovascular function. E and G were significantly higher than D in the hypoxia tolerance.
