台東縣桌球運動發展之研究（1947-2005）
A Study of the Development of Table Tennis in Taitung County (1947-2005)
摘要
在所有的球類運動中，桌球具有使用場地範圍小、不受氣候限制、隨時隨地都可使用的優點，因此在大型場地嚴重缺乏的市區，更能吸引一般民眾參與。台東縣的體育運動，近幾十年來皆獨鐘於棒球運動，鮮少人知道台東縣的桌球運動，從1947年參加第2屆台灣省運動會桌球賽以來，也曾風光一時，惜因某些原因沒落下去，這期間並沒有完整的資料保存。基於對地方史料的保存有著一份責任與興趣，引發筆者研究的動機。本研究旨在究明台東縣桌球運動在社會及學校方面的推展情形，採歷史研究法及訪談法，研究範圍從1947-2005年。本研究中發現台東縣的桌球運動最初是由社會體育開始推廣，學校方面直至仁愛國小成立桌球隊，為了使桌球選手的運動生命能有所延續，才開啟學校組訓桌球隊的風氣。目前各國小成立桌球隊者稀少，使得選手來源不足，加上台東縣不只一所國中招收桌球選手，使得訓練上無法集中效益。其次，台東縣偏遠地區之家庭收入不豐，端賴學校方面予以支持訓練，一旦面臨升學之經濟壓力，優秀選手的外流勢必不可免。尤其，台東縣並非工商業發達之縣市，無法由地方上的人士長期資助運動項目的發展，若能從學校方面暢通升學管道，給予選手生活上的照料，則台東縣的桌球發展盛況指日可待。

In all ball games, table tennis has many advantages. It doesn't have large place to play, isn't limited to climate and can play everywhere. For that, it attracts to hobbyists for lack of big sites in city seriously to play. In all ball games of Taitung County, people liked to play baseball at many decades recently, but few people knew table tennis. Since 1947 Taitung County participated in the 2'th Taiwan province's games, they have been glorious. However, for some reasons, they declined. In this period, they didn't preserved complete data. On the basis of having interest and responsibility to preserve local historical data, it makes the author do this research. The purpose of this study is to expound the development of table tennis in Taitung County in terms of physical education both in schools and in society at large. The methods of historical researches and interviews are adopted, with the scope of research ranging from 1947 to 2005. The research discovers the table tennis in Taitung County begins to popularize from social physical education. Schools in Taitung didn't advocate until Ren-Ai elementary school set up table tennis team. In order to let players continue play table tennis, so schools started to organize their table tennis team. Nowadays, because few elementary schools in Taitung set up table tennis team, the source of players isn't enough. Besides, many junior high schools enroll all table tennis players, so the players can't be trained effectively. Seriously, families in remote districts are almost poor, so they can only be trained in school. However, once when they face economical pressure of advancing, the superior players must flow away. Especially, Taitung doesn't develop industry and commerce, so the people in location can't frequently support developments of sports items. If the government can make players enter schools without obstruction, give them good care in life, and finally the development of table tennis in Taitung County can be better and better.
