The Effects of Physical Fitness Exercise Intervention on Health-Related Physical Fitness and Exercise Behavior of Middle-Aged and the Elders

摘要


The purpose of this study was to understand the effects of 12-week physical fitness exercise intervention combined with exercise guidelines on elderly people of health-related physical fitness and exercise behavior. Twenty-eight subjects (21 females & 7 males), average age 55.75, selected in the experiment attended a 12-week health-related physical fitness program included physical training and physical fitness curriculums. Health-related physical fitness (body mass index, 3-min step test, 1-min sit-ups and sit & reach) and exercise behavior questionnaires were collected both at pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using commercial software to set up files and to do statistical analysis. The statistical methods are included descriptive statistics, paired-samples t-test, independent-sample t-test and chi-square tests of distribution. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) Subjects' blood pressure was significantly improved by health-related physical fitness intervention. (2) Subjects' physical fitness such as cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular endurance and flexibility were significantly improved by health-related physical fitness intervention, no significant effect was found in body mass index. (3) Subjects' exercise behavior was insignificantly improved by health-related physical fitness intervention. But subjects' exercise frequency, exercise time and exercise item were significantly increased by health-related physical fitness intervention. In the meanwhile, exercise attitude separately with 'sport all right help and someone else get along attitude harmoniously', 'sports are an interesting thing' and 'sports can express the pressure of solving', three change one and reach the difference of showing before and after getting involved. Exercise cognition only to have cognition that aerobics, reach the difference of showing. This study conclusion gets involved in 12-weeks physical fitness exercise intervention included exercise cognitive education on elderly people to change exercise attitude, to promote cardio respiratory fitness, strength endurance and flexibility, etc. However, in order to further improve their body composition, the necessity of additional measures during intervention is indicated.
