本文將以施叔青(1945-)的《三世人》為例,觀察其筆下特有的歷史書寫現象—歷史物質化、表層化甚至檔案化的情況,深究歷史小說檔案化的特質為何。首先從歷史書寫的方向切入,以「檔案」(archive)與「物質」(material)的向度輻射,接著透過施叔青的小說,觀察歷史在文學中呈現的特殊樣貌,對其意義進行思辨與分析,在懷舊與謄寫之中呈現小說家對於歷史的詮釋。檔案/寄存取向的歷史小說不再辯證其資料之真/偽,而是在小說中形構了以現時為基點的歷史氛圍,儘管不可能完整,但它的確嘗試建立一個具有過去形象的歷史觀點。從另一方面看《三世人》代表的意義是,作家以創作回應歷史書寫如何可能,在物質與聲明的檔案之中,透過身/物的相互參照,文本與檔案/寄存的概念逐漸相關,歷史進而與現時產生了交集和連結。
This paper explores Taiwanese historical novel with body writing and material writing. To make the discussion, this paper not only analyzes historical material, but also attempts to explain the connection between archives and statements by the Taiwanese historical novelist, Shi Shu-ching(1945-). The Taiwanese historical novel Three generations of people, written in 2010 by Shi Shu-ching, represents the history how to be expressed on literature, and nostalgia and palimpsest appear on the historical interpretation of novelist. Archives of historical novels not to pursue the historical data in the truth or falsehood, but in the novel structure to present as a benchmark in the historical atmosphere, although may not be complete, but it does attempt to establish a past image in historical perspective.
