張愛玲在台灣文壇的影響力一直持續多年,但其人及其作品其實同時也是一種「被形塑」和「被想像」的資源,在不同時代的台灣文學場域中,都反照出場域的不同面貌。本文借用文學場域理論,重點梳理由1970年至1999年間台灣有關張愛玲其人其文的報章資料,分析這段期間張愛玲與報章編輯、學者、評論者、讀者等場域成員的互動情況。本文將以兩條主線作分析,第一是有關張愛玲生平回憶和討論、傳記、書信、故人訪問等,第二是有關張愛玲的作品評論與文學史想像,藉此更為全面地觀察她作為一個作家與文學場域的發展關係,以及「張愛玲」本身如何成為一種「被形塑」和「被想像」的資源,從而豐富和補充過去張愛玲在台灣文學史的接受研究。
Eileen Chang has had persistent influence on Taiwan's literary circles over the years. At the same time, the author and her works had also provided a rich source of information to be "shaped" and "imagined." The multifaceted aspects of the fields were precisely reflected in the ever-changing literary fields of Taiwan during different periods of time. Using the concept of literary field as the theoretical framework, this article analyzed Taiwan's newspaper articles (1970-1999) pertinent to Eileen Chang, which involved a substantial amount of data covering her life and works. Emphasis was put on examining Eileen Chang's interaction with the members in the fields (i.e. newspaper editors, scholars, critics, readers, etc.) within the specified timeframe. This study had two main foci. First, to examine Eileen Chang's memoir and its discussion, biography, as well as correspondence while conducting interviews with her acquaintances. Second, to examine the reviews of her works and the element of imagination in the history of literature. With this holistic approach, this article enables a more comprehensive understanding of her evolving relationship with the literary fields. In addition, it yields greater insights into how "Eileen Chang" emerged to become a wealth of resources to be "shaped" and "imagined." Most importantly, this article can contribute to the current body of knowledge by enriching and supplementing previous reception studies on Eileen Chang in the context of Taiwanese literature.
