The assessment center method is predictive of on-the-job performance as well as future performance with simulations, and used for a wide variety of purposes, including selection, promotion, development, and training. Recently, it's viewed as a type of training methods in order to promote the trainee's talent and career development, called ”Development Assessment center”. The concept of Assessment Center has been broadly applied to the employee training programs for Senior Civil Servants in Taiwan. Furthermore, this article introduced the concept, development of the assessment center, and functions and presented suggestions to police training evaluation through the introduction of Directorate-General of Personnel Administration's experience.
