兒童科學概念成熟度之研究

The Maturity Levels of Scientific Concept among Taiwanese Children

摘要


探討兒童科學概念發展的研究,最近已有許多方式。本文依據兒童心智隨年齡發展之理論與事實,設計一份試題,作為判斷兒童「科學概念發展」之成熟狀況。在六個試題中,從回收的兒童開放性答案、及參考心智發展的層次理論,每題各歸納成六個層次的十二個答案。從少量樣本的詮釋性評估,到一萬二千一百四十三個樣本的資料回收,本文考驗了試題的信、效度及適合受測兒童的年級上下限。並以大樣本之回收資料,建立了從小學三年級至國中二年級之各年級及全體兒童之科學概念成熟百分等級常模,以提供今後評估學生科學概念成熟程度之依據。

Recently, research had demonstrated many approaches to explore the scientific concept development of children. Based on literature study and practical experience, the present study designed a test to measure the maturity status of scientific concept of Taiwanese children. The six problem items of this test had been evaluated by semi-structured interviews with small sample. Also, it had been applied to big scale sample with 12,143 respondents. According to returned open-ended answers and developmental psychology, each problem item was induced to 12 answers at six different cognitive levels. After interviews and data collection, the reliability and validity of each problem item had been approved and the appropriate test population was defined as between grade 3 and grade 8. Based on the returned data, the percentile norms of each grade and the whole population had been calculated. This test could be a normal reference test of scientific concept development for Taiwanese children.
