The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of capsule and embryo maturity on seed germination of Oncidium. Longitudinal section of seeds on different days after interspecific pollination were observed. The outer and inner integument formated after 45 days of pollination as well as mature embryo sac formatted after 60 days of pollination. The proembryo developed at 90 days after pollination. The cells of embryos increased continuously at 120 days after pollination. The embryo divided: small and large cell regions at 150 or 158 days after pollination. Seeds of 60, 90 days after interspecific pollination were not able to germinate. Seeds of 120 days after pollination germinated. The highest germination of seeds were from capsules turned greenish yellow, i.e. at 150 or 158 days after pollination.
