兩岸大學入學考試英文科試題剖析

A Comparative Analysis of the College Entrance Examinations (English) in Taiwan and Mainland China

摘要


隨著來臺陸生的數目日益增加,臺灣大專院校的英文教師可能會想要了解來臺陸生與本地學生的英語學習經驗有何差異。為了解答這個問題,本文比較臺灣學測、中國大陸高考北京卷、上海卷英文科試題,因為測驗方式往往會反映出教師教學與學生學習的方式。整體而言,臺灣的學測不含聽力測驗,北京卷寫作測驗的比例較其他兩份試卷低一點。更仔細地檢視後發現,學測的克漏字題組測驗多項能力,反映出的教學觀點為,不同的語言技巧應於篇章中整合。本研究也發現,中國大陸的寫作測驗要求更高的認知思考能力。希望本文所進行的分析能夠成為臺灣大專院校英文教師有用的參考資料,讓教師能夠幫助陸生在臺灣學好英文。

With an increasing number of students coming from Mainland China, college English teachers in Taiwan may want to know how the students from Mainland China differ from local students in their experience of learning English as a foreign language. This paper answers this question by comparing the college entrance examinations in Taiwan, Beijing, and Shanghai, for how students are tested tends to reflect how they are taught and how they learn. Generally, the examination in Taiwan does not include listening comprehension, and the proportion of the writing section in the Beijing examination is slightly lower than that in the other two. Specifically, the cloze tests in Taiwan examine a wide range of skills, reflecting the pedagogic view that different language skills need to be integrated in discourse. It is also found that the writing sections in Mainland China require higher cognitive thinking. It is hoped that the comparison made in the present study can serve as a useful reference to college English teachers in Taiwan, allowing them to help the students from Mainland China to learn English better in Taiwan.
