以社區為師的生態旅遊教育－東方設計學院觀光系的案例

Learning from Community: A Case Study of Ecotourism Education at the Dongfang Design Institute

摘要

環境教育是發展生態旅遊的根本基礎。101年環保署委託世新大學知識經濟發展研究院進行的環境素養大規模調查中發現：大專校院學生的知識素養表現（60.4分）遠落於國小學生之後，有待努力提升。筆者身為大專校院第一線教師深有同感，實覺有強化環境再教育的必要。2008年筆者思索以服務的學校－東方設計學院為中心，發展地方綠色產業可能性時，原本以為學校可以為社區、地方行政單位調查蒐集觀光資源、規劃行程、撰寫計劃與行銷，以及執行計劃時提供人力資源，然而，經過調查訪談發現，鄰近學校的大湖社區在國家多年來總體社區營造的政策下，早已卓然有成，足以為學校學習之處甚多。因此，本文分述高雄市湖內區的大湖社區如何結合內外部資源，從整潔環境發展到生態旅遊的過程；東方設計學院各系與環境教育相關課程情形，及筆者所屬觀光與休閒事業管理系進入社區學習的初步成果，希望提供一個有別於「學校介入影響社區」的「學校向社區學習」案例，作為環境教育、及發展生態旅遊另一面向思考的參考。

This article examines learning based on a community rather than a ＂school intervention in the community＂ model for environmental and ecotourism education. First, we introduce the Dahu community in Kaohsiung to see how it connects resources from the outside effectively to enable an original project of environmental cleanup to serve an additional purpose in ecotourism. Second, we examine a school involved, the Dongfang Design Institute of Kaohsiung, to observe how faculty, courses and resources related to environmental education are activated. Third, we examine the Department of Tourism and Leisure Management to note effects of preliminary learning results from the Dahu community.
