In recent years, Asia and Hong Kong frequently used the term "slashie", which means a person has more than one occupation. Because slashies work as part-timers, they can flexibly allocate their time and energy to different types of work to increase their income. More importantly, they can pursue their own interests and lifestyles. For the next generation, the emergence of "slashies" can be considered as a response to new employment patterns. Moreover, "slashies" can also be deemed as a concept related to self-esteem and self-seeking. This study examines how the employment pattern "slashie" affects the labor market, and the findings show that "slashies" can significantly increase business operational performance and employees' job performance. In other words, hiring part-time professional staff instead can save a company's operating costs. Moreover, it can increase the supply of the labor market and drive the flexibility of the labor market, thereby promoting social and economic development, stability and prosperity.
