Mycobacterium abscessus (M. abscessus), though an uncommon human pathogen, can cause skin and soft tissue infection after skin injury by inoculation, minor trauma or surgery. We describe a case of a 46-yearold woman presented with multiple erythematous skin lesions at bilateral thighs and right breast, 1 month after receiving a plastic surgery. Ga-67 scintigraphy with single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) revealed numerous hot foci that corresponded to the skin lesions. The imaging findings together with the clinical progress suggested the diagnosis of disseminated non-tuberculous mycobacterium infection. The culture of abdominal and left thigh lesions concurrently yielded M. abscessus.
