【論文摘要】Correlation Between Positron Emission Tomography Parameters and Computed Tomography Parameters in Malignant Thyroid Incidentaloma

摘要

Introduction: The aim of this study was to identified the correlation between positron emission tomography (PET) parameters and computed tomography (CT) parameters in malignant thyroid incidentaloma in asymptomatic subjects. Methods: This retrospective study included 26 asymptomatic subjects who had thyroid incidentalomas on F-18-fluoro-deoxyglucose (F-18-FDG) PET/CT. Totally 28 incidentalomas proved to be primary thyroid cancer were analyzed. The correlation between maximal standard uptake value (SUVmax), mean standard uptake value (SUVmean), Hounsfiled unit (HU), visual HU (HUvisual), HU ratio of thyroid incidentaloma compared to contralateral thyroid lobe (N/T_(HU)), and size of incidentaloma were calculated. Results: There were tendencies that both SUVmax and SUVmean had low negative correlation with HU, HUvisual, and N/T_(HU), while without statistical significance. There was a moderate positive correlation between both SUVmax and SUVmean, and size of incidentaloma (p = 0.004 and 0.004, respectively). Conclusions: No statistical significant correlation is found between PET parameters (SUVmax, SUVmean) and CT parameters (HU, HUvisual, N/T_(HU)). Moderate positive correlation was found between both SUVmax and SUVmean, and size of incidentaloma.
