The Cultivation of the Professional Competence of the Library and Information Service in the Digital Age

This article aims to point out that for the cultivation of the professional competence of the library and information service in the digital age, the necessary required professional knowledge, competence and the practical training should be provided. Besides, there must be the exploration of the interdisciplinary and international training in education so as to cope with the broad professional library service demands through efforts for obtaining the training opportunities and encouraging the participation of the industry people in this endeavor for the establishment of the equalized cooperation platform and the practical application of the professional knowledge, thereby minimizing the industry-academy application gap.
