The Correlation of the Sound Pressure Level and Sound Source with the Recognition of Fire Alarm for the Earplug

This study is to discuss the correlation of the sound pressure level, sound source, warning recognition of fire alarm. When worker wear the earplug, whether they can hear the fire alarm clearly with the working noise. Also, how to reduce the risk caused by the high intensity of working noise sound and fire alarm sound. The second research question was to how to increase the recognition of warning sound based on the site selection of fire alarm. This research used the laboratory ear simulator AEC206 for three earplugs. The sound sources were placed at front side, left hand side, back side, right hand side. The volume of warning sound was played from 75 dB to 90 dB. When the volume of warning sound was at 75 dB, it could be received. The higher volume of warning sound increased, the more it could be received. About the site selection for the placement of warning sound, it could be either placed at front site or back site of the working area for the better recognition of warning sound.
