Energy Dissipation Mechanism and Its Application of to a Slotted Disc Waveguide Vibration Absorber

This paper studies the characteristics of cylindrical wave propagation and its energy dissipation in thin slotted disc viscoelastic waveguide absorber. Based on the dynamic analysis of uniform-beam viscoelastic waveguide absorber under continuous excitation, we discussed the relations between vibration energy dissipation rate and other variables of the systems, such as slotted disk (SD) geometry parameters, material parameters and vibration wave frequency. The energy dissipation law of slotted disk viscoelastic waveguide vibration absorber (SDWVA) was further obtained. The simulation and vibration experiment show that viscoelastic circular plate waveguide absorber has good inhibition effect on low-frequency vibration. This can be further investigated as vibration or vibration suppression component of large machine tools and other processing machinery.
